Moms, Dads, and Kids
Are you brave enough to sleep among lions, tigers and bears?
Then grab your tents and join the fun at Amarillo Zoo’s Roars and Snores overnight! Camp out and enjoy an after-hours view of the Zoo! Not only is this a great opportunity to learn about local and exotic wildlife, but a wonderful way for your family to have a mini-vacation close to home.
Your adventure begins at 6:30 p.m. with a scavenger hunt that allows you to explore the Zoo. We continue with a few up-close and personal animal encounters and other activities that may include animal enrichment projects and late night hikes.
At 7:00 a.m. it’s rise and shine, pack your gear, and have a continental breakfast (provided with the program). Complete your adventure by observing the animals enjoying the enrichment made the night before and with an early morning tour around the Zoo. The program ends at 9:00 a.m.; however, your group is welcome to enjoy the Zoo for the remainder of the day.
It is permissible to bring additional drinks and snacks for the group. As the program begins at 6:30 p.m., it is assumed that the group will have already eaten dinner. However, for an additional $5 per person you can purchase the Deluxe Zoo Snooze package that includes dinner. Dinner consists of a hot dog, chips, cookie, and soda pop. With the Deluxe Package, your adventure will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Participants are responsible for providing their own sleeping gear, tents and toiletries. Restroom facilities are available; however, there are no shower facilities available.
